Animated Music Videos

Animation is often used for music videos and, in my opinion, that is one of the best two mediums to be collided, both of then complement each other incredibly well. Music for one example often makes us imagine vivid and incredible images when listening to it, epic visuals to put it precisely, not to mention narrative stories we might get caught up in making up while listening to certain songs. Animation works very well with music, because both of them have a certain flow and movement that is hard to portray and capture in other mediums, not to mention all the possible visuals, metaphors and narratives or even short stories that can easily portray the songs meaning or just run away with the idea and make the song a more surreal experience entirely by providing another take on the interpretation or showing something that is seemingly unrelated to the song, all of this because when animating or taking participation in any art related activity there are no boundaries or limitations except for the animators own imagination. So yet again, music can tell a story without any visuals and animation can just as easily get you invested into a story without any words but these two working together to produce a singular result can end in something entirely different.
Bellow I posited a few of my favorite animated music videos and i tried to make them as diverse as possible from one another.

Squirrel Nut Zippers - "Ghost of Stephen Foster" music video.

Pearl Jam - Do the Evolution

Stuck In The Sound - Let's Go

The Killers - Miss Atomic Bomb

The Peach Kings - Mojo Thunder

All of the videos above all fall in the same category as animated music videos, but It I so noticeably so diverse, not only style vise, but the way it is presented, the editing etc. As I mentioned above the possibility’s and takes on the subject matter are only as limited as the art designers/animators/concept artists imagination is.
